1 - Derek Scrimgour

Date of Birth: 29-3-79
Birthplace: Glasgow
Height: 1.88 metres
Weight: 85 Kgs

A former Junior with Largs Thistle, Derek who has an Under-21 cap against Denmark to his credit, took over the goalkeeping duties when Alan Combe left for Tannadice. Confident in dealing with cross balls and one who constantly keeps his defence on their toes with his verbal advice, Derek and Ludovic Roy have a regular battle for the custodian throne with the latter currently in pole position

17 - Ludovic Roy

Date of Birth: 18-8-77
Birthplace: Tours, France
Height: 1.93 metres
Weight: 78 Kgs

The charismatic "Ludo" who has a French Under-18 cap in his locker, arrived in Paisley at the start of the 1998-1999 season and made his debut against Falkirk the following December. An excellent shot stopper, his expertise between the sticks saw him short listed by the "bigsave.com" internet retail organisation as the Best Scottish Goalkeeper of Last Season. His listed rivals were Gordon Marshall (Kilmarnock), Robert Douglas (Dundee) and Stefan Klos (Rangers). Voting was conducted on the internet with Ludo winning by the proverbial mile.

4 - Tommy Turner

Date of Birth: 11-10-63
Birthplace: Johnstone
Height: 1.77 metres
Weight: 67 Kgs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a truism in football that there is no substitute for experience with Tommy offering visible proof of that assertion. Released by Kilmarnock as a youngster, he returned to the Junvenile ranks with Glentyan Thistle before Tommy McLean brought him back onto the senior stage with Morton in 1984. Since then he has registered over 350 League appearances in the colours of Morton, St Johnstone, Partick Thistle and St Mirren. Captained St Mirren to the First Division championship last term and was voted St Mirren Player of the Year.

5 - Barry McLaughlin

Date of Birth: 19-4-73
Birthplace: Paisley
Height: 1.85 metres
Weight: 82 Kgs

The central defender who gave up a career in banking to go full time with St Mirren is a model of defensive consistency and topped the St Mirren appearance records last term with 38 outings. Barry is now the second longest serving player at the club having signed in August 1991 as another recruit from the St Mirren Boys Club. His consistent record saw him win the Paisley Daily Express Star Saint competition last season.

6 - Scott Walker

Date of Birth: 5-3-75
Birthplace: Glasgow
Height: 1.86 metres
Weight: 79 Kgs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A season as a Dalry Thistle player saw Scott lift that club's Player of the Year accolade, an award that prompted Alex Totten to sign him for Kilmarnock. A year at Rugby Park proceeded a season in Singapore before John Brownlie brought the big central defender on board with East Stirling. Tom Hendrie was in need of a quality central defender with Scott graduating to the role in some style.

14 - Paul Rudden

Date of Birth: 10-8-80
Birthplace: Glasgow
Height: 1.73 metres
Weight: 68 Kgs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The former Moodiesburn, Celtic and St Mary's Boys Club player made his debut as a 17-year old against Dundee in the last game of the 97-98 season. Since then he has developed into a quality player with comfort zones in either defence or midfield. Strong in the tackle and creative in launching attacks, Paul reads the game exceptionally well and although he only made 10 starts last season, his value to the side was evident in his tally of 20 substitute appearances.
